A bit information on Guam schools. The education on Guam plays a significant role in the islands infrastructure.  It is understood as the key to success is within the young generation for a prosperous future for the island. There are many institutions on Guam with many different teachings, criteria, and level based on the students’ standards and degree.  the 3 main options for schools in Guam is, private schools, public schools, and DODEA school.

Private schools on Guam are popular amongst the religious community. Private schools offered to students on the island practice either Christianity or Roman Catholicism together with their main core subjects from grades K3-12th grade. The tuition fee for these schools varies between the institutions. The student per teacher ratio is fair compared to public schools on island. The two most popular catholic high schools are Father Duenas Memorial School and Academy of Our Lady of Guam. The two most popular Christian Guam schools are St. Johns School and Harvest Christian Academy. Many of the private Guam schools offer many extra curricular activities such as, sports, music, voluntary work, and work study programs. Most of the private schools on the island have bus transportation for you and your child’s convenience.

Public Guam schools are offered to students from K3-12th grade. There are 27 elementary schools, 8 middle schools, and 5 high schools spread out in most villages on Guam to help accommodate the number of students enrolled. There are bus transportations offered to all students attending the public institutions. The high schools offer a choice of career or college path at the beginning of the school year for new students; college paths helps students take core classes needed for colleges and career paths focus on classes that the student may need for their declared careers. For military members, the DODEA school option is available.  There is the Andersen Elementary School and the Andersen Middle School located up north in the Andersen Air Force Base.  And on Naval Base Guam, located in Santa Rita, there is the McCool Elementary and Middle School.  For high school, there is the Guam High School located in Agana Heights which is located right at the center of the island.  All Dodea schools provide school bus transportation to most parts of the island.  For more information, visit their webpage at DODEA GUAM.

For those looking to advance in their education, the island offers two colleges: the University of Guam and the Guam Community College. Several fields of education are offered to students with different levels of degrees such as: certificates, associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, and master’s degree.
